Default Best quality exhaust?

Hi All,

Thinking about changing the backbox on my WRX ('04). Was wondering, sound preference aside, which brand or brands had the best reputation for quality. Are there any I should stay away from?

Torn at the minute between a Blitz Nur Spec S and a Scoobyworld Ninja but are there any other brands that I should consider?

Best,

Alex

Blitz it up baby.

Top quality finish & the welds on "just" an exhaust are a work of art.

Thanks Mark - love the Stealth Wagon! Have you had any probs with early starts/stroppy neighbours?

Also, best price I've found for a Nur Spec S is £292.99 from Revolution Motorsport - does that sound fair?

Best,

Alex

Alex, I've had the Ninja and Blitz Nur Spec-r systems on my previous 2 Scoobs and can confirm you would be more than happy with the quality of either set up. Indeed anything made by Scoobyworld exhaust wise is fantastic quality and not too pricey either. It depends on your requirement noise wise really.

Ninja is definitely quieter than the Nur Spec, but on the loud pedal gives off a good roar. I personally liked the obnoxiousness of the full Nur Spec-r decat on my most recent Impreza (Wasn't keen on motorways though)

The Afterburner Vortex from Scoobyworld is a quality exhaust! I was really impressed with the workmanship, afterall you would expect no less from Hayward and Scott!!

Pics below.

The RCM systems are supposed to be quite loud, whilst the Team ICE backbox is apparently deafening!

Thanks for the replies - booked in at Scoobyworld for the end of the month to try a few out!

Best,

Alex

Hayward and Scott are pretty much at the top of the pile for quality, you do pay for it though

I had similar choice to make went Blitz Nur Spec S - it is FANTASTIC noise, quality and reputation - got the de-res centre section from Scoobyworld (afterburner) and it sounds fantastic it not OTT but is on the max loud side I would go.

TSL Pulse Extraction is the best quality exhaust I have seen. H&S, Revolution and Scoobyworld are also very good.

We have a Full Haywood & Scott on our classic. Got the 'standard looking' backbox too, which I kind of like. It sounds beefy on tickover, quiet when cruising or feathering throttle on motorway, but on full chant it roars..........

Go Ganador Lol, post a link.

I have seen these second hand, but **** me they are loud. I see the titanium attraction but being light is only half the battle, you need quiet too for track days. I have an Apexi N1 on the classic and thats of a similar volume

I have a Blitz NurSpec S on the New Age, from Revolution. The price you quote is about right, but pick up the phone to Keith and he's sure to sort out a good delivered deal

I would post a link but this ebay fella nicked my youtube video so I edited the audio and video a smidge

You are very kind Alex. The Stealth Wagon is not so stealthy any more. I had one neighbourly hint about noise when I still had the Prodrive PPP back box fitted so I just altered my habits a little. I sort out my Disc-lock, Sat Nav & phone/bluetooth etc before starting up & then drive off straight away. I let the oil cool down over the last part of my journey home so I can switch off as soon as I get in the garage. It has just been MOT'd with it on.

If you are concerned about noise at certain times ie neighbours or trackdays then you can get a bung for the Blitz.

Blitz Nur Spec R is 3" including backbox and centre section where it narrows to 2.5" to meet the existing downpipe (classic Impreza models) or catpipe (new age Impreza models)

Blitz Nur Spec S is 3" bore narrowing to 2.5" bore where it meets with centre section as in pic.

Lol.

Ive just plumped for the scoobysport style backbox from H&S in 3" to meet my 3" decat downpipe. Really hoping it is quiet enough for donny. otherwise its gonna have to go/put cat back on/put a muffler in!

I have a Blitz Nur Spec, I must be getting old as the bass is starting to do my head in and it under performs with the bung in.

Anyone know of an exhaust that isn't as loud but still gives the nice flat four burble.

+DOC+ - Ive been doing lots of research about that and it turns out, for just an out of the box exhaust, Revolutions own one and Magnex are the quietest on idle and motorways but give a nice not to loud burble when accelerating.

Be careful with Revolution though, if you email them through here, they quote you £350 for the system, but on the website its nearer £300. He claimed they where seperate entitities....basically just to con anyone who will pay the extra without doing the research..

If you dont want a massive backbox sticking out of the rear of your car then why not have a look at a 5zigen fireball.
Heres a picture and a clip of mine

This weekend swopped my Blitz Nur spec S for a 3" full H&S system. Though the H&S is a good exhaust, it is not as good in terms of quality of welds/thickness & grade of steel/roundness of tailpipe exit, or lack of.

Saying tha the Fujitsubo titanium one I had before was even better than the Blitz!
