Hi,

I know this is the wrong forum but I need a fast reply within an hour. At the moment I am carrying out an oil/filter change on my MY99 Type-R. I am not sure what the min/max marks are on the oil dipstick, there is a line, two holes and a notch. Could someone please put my mind at rest and tell me what the max line is? If I don't get a reply then I will assume the max is the notch, PLEASE let me know if I'm wrong. I recollect a problem that occurs on overfilled Impreza sump's, something to do with contaminating a solenoid (not sure what!). I would like to avoid this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Craig.

I'm no expert but I thought it was in between the two dots (holes)

Look carefully and you'll see a L and F

[Edited] Just checked on my P1, yep it's the two holes.

I THINK the notch is what it may expand up to when the oil is hot.

Just a hunch from when I did my oil change at xmas....

Mickle is right both holes are marked up as L & F, don't go over the top hole marked F.
