Default Does your scoob attract tail gaters?

Hi all,

How many have found that with the introduction of a scoob into their lives they brought with it that cardinal sinner of the road going community....the tail gater???

I am forever being tail gated, by all kinds of cars from Corsa's to BMW's.

I am quite a sedate driver...don't really hoon it from point to point, but sometimes when this happens, my my do I get the urge.

!!!

yes recently a Volvo 950 (i think) at about 6.30 in the morning when the roads were clear and he wanted a different fecking lane he was so close i couldn't see his headlights.

Mondeos ranging from original to 2003 versions and either the 1.6 LX or ST (none of the inbetween models).
Numerous other cars Vectras (the B version),other fecking imprezas

I posted about the Civic type R as this was my latest tail gater!!! Although the one before that was a black 1.2 ltr corsa. Lol at another thread on here saying that the black corsa's are the one to watch as they are quick!!!!

Not intentionally - a grey wagon is quite stealthy.

Anyone who does soon drops back before they're overcome by petrol fumes (attested to by my other half)

I get a lot of tail gaters with every car I have. I now drive a Ford Focus, which doesn't exactly stand out - still get them. Just ignore them if I can.

Yep loadsa times

Especially in summer time (in and around Skegness) seems to attract all the 'boy racers' in there Saxo's with their big exhausts etc.

Don't usually bother me unless they do it for too long and then...... a quick press of the loud peddle and they seem to drop back rather rapidly.

I'm always tailgated all the time. Usually in a evening coming home from work in Driffeild to Brid.

All kinds of cars, had one the other week a BMW I put my foot down to clear the cob webs and left him for dead. He caught up eventually and tried to entice me into a race but I ain't bothered, he overtook me and then he slowed down. Flashing his four ways.

Great, he then pulled into a junction and let me pass then jkept driving up my *** that I felt violated. He kept flashing me then went into a layby.
I carried on and that was that. I ain't gonna pull in to see what he will do.

Interesting that they seem to think I've got a Scooby I will drive it at mack ten all the time??

Same here get it all the time, aswell as getting carved up at junctions, other road users not letting me out of busy junctions and driving really slowing {15 in 40 zones} just to **** me off or trying to block me when I try to overtake them.
I never get this hassle when im driving other cars, just the scooby.

This is a common problem when driving a subaru, its like a magnet for muppets and always attracts the wrong kind of attention, this is one of the main reasons i sold my sti, i found myself getting more and more wound up by the tailgaters and started driving like a ****, so i took the decision to sell in the end.

I find more female drivers tailgate in 30/ 40 limits then males on the motorway. My research goes back over 3 Imprezas and 5 years...

When I had a high level spoiler I had every idiot in town following me. Since removing the spoiler nobody bothers me, it's great

Interesting thread. Can someone please explain the logic of a tailgater to me?

Is it that they genuinely believe they own a faster car (which of course they might do) and you are holding them back or is it a more primitive instinct that proves their masculinity by driving threateningly in your rear view mirror?

I just don't understand it really!!

For the record I do find French car drivers the worst. Corsa, Saxo's etc

i don't really find it a problem at all.

I get just as many tail gatters in the subaru as i do in the astra which isn't that many to be fair so wouldn't really say its car speicific

I don't get many people "try and Race" at the light either get the odd one or two trying to get my attention but i choose to ignore them.

It must be that my car blends in as well
