I fitted mine a couple of weeks ago with a prodrive downpipe, can honestly say it doesn't seem any louder, turbo spools a little better, but hoping a remap will give better gains.

A decat uppipe will help the turbo to spool up quicker, when Bob Rawle mapped my car he was impressed with how well the turbo held boost at high revs and said that was down to the decat uppipe. It also removes the risk of your turbo becoming f**ked when the cat fails and falls into the turbo

Turbo spools up quicker and gives better acceleration even before remapping, not any louder but gives a nice induction sound.

I ran mine for 4 months before remapping with just a Prodrive Sports Cat, other than a couple of CEL's (Cat below efficiency) no other issues at all.

Uppipe goes from the engine UP to the turbo, then you get the downpipe etc after the turbo. STi's come with a decat uppipe, newage WRX's uppipe come with a cat in, not sure about classics.

hope that helps
