Default Importing to Ireland

My cousin wants to import a car to ireland, its a cosworth and on the V5 has no co2 rating. He said the duty depends on the co2 rating. I have no idea about this and so i have come to you learned folk on here. Are there anyways around it or model specds he could use etc.. to get the cost down.

To be honest I don't think Cosworth will fit any of lower rates.
it's the most probably over 225g/km so I'd say your mate will hit the highest possible vrt rate :/
It's very annoying to be honest - so many nice cars, which if you would like to bring to Ireland are going to be too expensive with taxes...
