octane STi/ecu

Can someone help with this :
I am running my 02 WRX Sti on 95 unleaded at the moment. One of our oil companies has just launched a new super refined Dynamic 97 unleaded at the coast.
My question is : If I change to this fuel and reset my ecu, does the ecu have enough play/learning to adjust and take advantage or do I need to mod the ecu as they were setup for our 95 unleaded fuels available at that time.
I've heard that just the fuel change won't do anything but I know you guys in UK know more about subaru ecu etc.

just change to the new fuel and run for about 50 miles, then disconnect your battery and leave over night ( or for an hour) reconnect the system and drive lightly for the next 10 miles. Job done.

You don't even need to do that with the MY01 and MY02 - the ECU learns very very quickly (much faster than MY00 and before) so there's no need to reset the ECU. Also, if you disconnect your battery, you will lose the radio code (if it is code-protected).
Just fill up, drive and enjoy - you should start the notice the difference within 50-100 miles of normal driving!
Cheers
