immobiliser troubles - PLEASE HELP!!
Hi,
I have an impreza 2000 turbo with a standard factory immobiliser on.
I popped up to Tescos today and locked the car on the key fob as normal. When I returned it would simply not open using it. The fob light now flashes 3 times when I hold it down when as before it would stay on continuously.
I have had the AA out [fat load of good they were] and they towed me home.
The strangest thing happened on the way back. We pulled over for a moment and disconnected the battery. He then re-connected it and i turned the key in the ignition at the car started! The alarm was still going off but I had no lights, or power to the radio etc.
REALLY strange.
I am going to contact my local Subaru dealer tomorrow to try and get things sorted.
Has anyone had a problem like this before or know what I can do to try and sort it out??

You should have a code for the glove box panel, this will allow you to re-set your immobiliser and alarm. make sure you read the manual on how to do this as it can be a pain.
Subaru will be ablw to get you code if you havent got it.

I doubt that disconnecting the battery made any difference. The OEM alarm is easily affected by airwaves radio repeaters and probably other transmissions too. Theyll usually start if you move the car a short distance.
