Default 2002 Sti PPP for £7-8k??

Hey Again Everyone,

I'm searching for a nice example of a STi pref with PPP pack for around £7-8k (originally looking for around £10k but with current climate would rather not put that much into a car)

I have found a 2002 'bug eye' example

Auto Trader UK - SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0 WRX STi Prodrive 4dr Saloon

and another one for the same price with 41,000 miles.

Does this seem the right sort of price for one?

I know prices are falling but i'm struggling to get an example newer then 2002 with lowish mileage for my price or am i mistaken to think i can get a newer example for my budget?

The prices are strange right now, I know (honestly) some people that are getting last year prices for there cars and some people on here that have taken really low prices.
My advice would be this, Look at a car, give a good going over and work out what it is worth to you, Does it have history, is it the right colour etc etc and then haggle till you get it for that price.
And being a total chancer I am selling my 2002 WRX STi PPP at the moment, Plus its just had its cam belt done yesterday!!!
Look at my sccoby over there <----

The one you have listed doesn’t have a PPP fitted I have emailed him
He said it was standard apart from the alloys.
With 8k I would want a 03-04 STI

Hi mate you could always buy my 55 plate 2.5 Hawkeye Sti UK for £8750.
WRBlue all standard except Prodrive tailpipe. 88k miles but you wouldnt know.
Full subaru history taxed and tested, a really nice car.
Let me know if you want to know more.

Hi Phil. Does all these people trying to sell you their cars make you realise it's a buyers market.

Go in hard offer no trade-in, or finance to bollox the deal, and offer a grand less..... see what they say, I'd be suprised if it was no.

imho

Yeah i realise now that doesn't have prodrive...why do people advertise ti like they have it when they don't!?!

Well the one I found is this 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX STI PRODRIVE-TYPE UK on eBay, also, Subaru, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 09-Feb-09 10:30:45 GMT)

It does have prodrive although is from a dealer and they are obviously notoriously snotty when it comes to deals.

I only have 7-8k not a penny over guys and want low mileage but keep advice coming....I'm stuck whether to wait a few months and see if prices keep falling as I have sold my current car with new owner picking up this coming weekend.

I really do have my heart set on a PPP version or one thats been fettled to up the power to PPP standards really to save money in the long run

Them cars are STI Prodrive Style cars they did a run of them that had different bumpers grill side skirts and rear spoiler. If you look at the two together you will see the differences.
The engines are the same the PPP was still an option.

Because the car is a Prodrive Style, the PPP was an extra and not fitted to all cars.

Tim I can't see your car or any spec etc on it? Can you show me a link!?

Thanks for clearly up the whole prodrive style / PPP

I have looked here/autotrader/ebay/pistonheads and there aren't that many within the price bracket and still a wide bracket for pricing from 8k to 14k

Prodrive bug-eye isn't a PPP unless added, as the MAIN benefit was warranty, don't bother paying extra for a PPP'd car.

You can extract more performance for less cash with a custom re-map. These are also one of the strongest standard motors out there, some running 450 bhp with bolt-on mods.

A dealer won't be snotty if you have the cash, I have a pal who deals a bit and he treats it as a battle, never let them think you are "hooked", always smile and walk away.

Dealers with these older cars ( like mine 2002 ) are taking a kicking at the moment.

imho

I am to mate - wish I never sold my Prodrive Sti / black/ blue - only 200 made - have been on the look out ever since to buy it back - CE02 TZA -

they have the best seats - well better than the 2002 on Sti's - good luck hope you find a good one - that blue one with 35k look nice - was looking at that myself, just a bit too far from me though.

The "Prodrive Style" had styling mods only...........I'd try and find a "normal" bugeye STi for £3.5 - £4.0 grand

Biggest bang per buck performance wise with a few mods / re-map

thanks for that guys, i guess I'd like a PPP Sti as I'm not looking to modify the car in terms of loud exhausts etc and figured the PPP had a nice balance of the essentials. Saying that I don't mind getting a 'normal' Sti if it had been re-mapped etc as it saves me doing it myself.

I can't seem to find these Sti's for cheap money that are getting referred too!

Hoping one will pop along this week and Tims Sti is a strong contender it has to be said
