I posted a couple of weeks ago (http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/Forum1/HTML/009046.html) explaining that I had a MY00 EU Import with a faulty clutch at 15,000 miles, and the complex/lengthy claim process.

A week ago I had the clutch replaced in the UK and paid £828. The dealer and IM then sent the clutch back to Subaru NL for inspection. Today I received a full refund from the UK dealer.

My UK dealer was excellent, and IM efficient in returning the parts. My Dutch dealer also offered good advice and contacted Subaru NL.

The point of the post is to log a successful
EU warranty claim - something I was unable to obtain an example of before proceeding and risking my cash.

Phil (still happy with his lot)

Thumbs up

Nice one Phil, I had a feeling it was going to be a long process. I am still looking into the extended warranty situation in case I have problems later.

I presume the Wetter the Better Course is now a possibility in the near future.

Neil.

That's great Phil. Which UK dealer was it? I've got my 15k service due v. soon and would like to ensure things go smoothly.

Phil,
Glad to hear you got your clutch problems sorted under warranty. I also had a serious problem with my car a few weeks back(a MY00 imported from Holland last September). The car developed a serious oil leak. Upon investigation, the dealer discovered the cause of the leak was a cracked engine casing! A bit surprising on a car only 4 months old.

To their credit, Subaru authorised the repair(under warranty) within a day and a new engine arrived at the dealers a week later, with fitting taking a further 3 days.

Thanks to the chaps at Cheam Motors, especially Mr Barker, for sorting this out so quickly.
