Default Mot question

At the moment i have my back seats out of the car, but the seat belts are still in place.

For an mot is it required to have both the seats and belts in?

or

As long as the belts are in fully working order is that all thats needed? and the seats can stay out?

Im confident that if you dont have a seat then you do not require a seat belt.....

Yeah i took my Renault 5 GT Turbo for its m.o.t, got there to find out that one of the rear belts didnt work . The tester said that if it didnt have rear seats then it wouldnt be an issue so 5 mins and four 13mm bolts later and i left with a pass.

rally cars have to be taxed and mot'd for road sections. most, if not all stage cars have niether belts or seats

and they pass ok if an item is not fitted it cant be tested

steve

you will be suprised whats not reqired for mot, i found out the other day that general lights and fog lights are tested but reversing lights are not required, how daft is that?

My old cavalier passed its MOT without the rear seats, I had them out to get some welding done.
