Question MY06 Spec C 0-60 time

I have had my spec c for about 12 months now and i would like to be able to answer the one question i'm always asked and cannot properly answer. Car is running approx 345 bhp and 340 lb/ft and mods as per 'view my scooby'.

Have tried searching but doesn't seem to be working at present.....

Anyone with similar model/spec can help please?

You should be able to get a best time of around 4.3 seconds for 0-60 on the stock clutch in a Spec C with 350 lb ft of torque. Probably smoking it on launch! Easier to achieve with an Exedy twin plate clutch.

Evo got 4.3 (11.1 to the ton) for a std MY03 spec c. Would guess 4 or thereabouts would be realistic for yours??

I have a MY06 Spec C and these numbers seem about right.

Low 4s to 60 and between 11 and 12 to a 100.

I reckon you can get the 60 without smoking the standard clutch and that is just my experience. All the Subaru's I have ever had on the quarter have all done very respectable 60ft times without doing anything to the clutch and I have never had a clutch fail in 80,000 miles of driving all sorts of Imprezas

Your clutch control & technique must be pretty exceptional to get that kind of life out of the stock clutch if you are repeatedly launching your car on track.
In my experience it is a weak point & one of the first mods necessary if you want to optimise performance. It is far too easy to smoke the stock clutch from standing starts, especially if you have substantially increased BHP. I Have used AP Racing (organic) and Exedy paddle clutches in previous cars with far better results.
A good article here explaining the pros and cons for modified performance cars:

Get out on a quiet (private) road and time it, lol.

Will be doing well to achieve consistent 4.3's without smoking the clutch, manufacturer gives the clucth hell to achieve these times do they not?

Just out of interest is 345bhp normal for the mods carried out, I always thought similar mods would produce approx 360bhp 'ish??
Do you know what max boost your running?

ps I would imagine 4.2 to 4.4 sec would be approx 0to60 mph for your car.

Type 20 is just suspension.
But he has had other performance work done i.e. exhaust/cats/filter/solenoid/actuator/remap

Thanks for the replies guys.

rickya,

I think the car may well be running more than the figures stated as some of the mods have been done since those figures were taken and I haven't had chance to put it back on the rollers.... and no idea about the max boost sorry.
