I also really like this one from the main dealer - but he wont move on the price...

Cant believe that dealer wont move on price? I cant see buyers rushing to snap it up in the current climate. I hate haggling with dealers its almost mission impossible.
In response to your original post id got for the 03 STi, spend some money on a full and thorough service (cambelt change if its not been done as its due at that mileage). Id then go for a full exhaust system with sports cat or decat, panel filter, fuel pump and ECUTEK remap and you will have a nice sorted car with circa 330bhp, much better then the PPP option imo.

Does not look like a OEM Subaru exhaust but the PFF's are £1800 new for a set with tyres.
The Proven warranty is pretty good and may be worth that extra cash for peace of mind. Still strange he won't budge on price. I would of thought £9.5 at least would tempt them.

Leave your delails with him. Inform him you're off to view a few other car, both private and dealers. If he want's to do a deal, he's to give you a call.
Sit back with a nice cup of tea and wait for his call.
You'll get this car for £9k. Maybe less
There are hundreds of Impreza's for sale right now. If you don't get this one, another one will up for sale somewhere else.

So for 9500 I would get a STI with 330 but no warrenty
or 9995 if he won't the STI ppp and I do like those wheels on it...
The 2004 STI PPP 9995 is being sold by RRH auto's scooby dealer recommended from this site and he seems to really know his stuff as well...
I am going to view the one in the main dealers on Saturday and see if I can knock him down what would be a realistic price 9ish...
With the price and rate the value of cars is dropping I don't want to take a hugh hit right at the start of ownership...
Any advice would help...

I traded in 3 months ago a spanking 04 wrx bought brand new by myself I knew what i wanted and wasn't that fussed about selling, 3 hours later we did the deal on my terms against a Hawkeye Sti with PPP. It's a buyers market, Deal with the main dealers and there is warranty but it will cost more than private!
If I was you i'd carrying on testing the water something will appear and you will be blown away by the deal!
