I tried giving up cars as a hobby interest as they were costing me loads of wedge.
It almost lasted 2 years, but I sneaked a WRX into the garage in 2007, and now I'm riding an STi. Once a petrol head, always a petrol head.
My advice:

DON'T FIGHT IT!

I recall selling my V4 Type R......each year that went by proved more and more difficult ....after 4 years I finally gave in and went and bought a scoob which I've now had for over 2.5 years and do not regret it one bit . My belief is if you can afford to have it then do so and enjoy it whilst you are able to!

So go get yourself a scoob!

there are plenty of other good performance cars out there, but Ant went and got a Volvo ..........

I've been in a T5 and they do go well but it is a Volvo ... !!!!!!!!! Perhaps if you'd have got something like a Noble or a Monaro you wouldn't have been so bothered

they have loads of grip but handling is well **** acceration is mint top end is mint car is built well solid but its just has to many fault its realy nice to cruise in and drive normaly but it need lots of suspension work. but they can be mean and the engines take it to straight up remap and exuast and panel filter will pull 300 bhp.
but like what was just said theres no passion what so ever its poop

as long as you can get rid of the volvo ok then you should be able to pick up a good scoob at a good price in this climate

I dont know if I could do it. I have thought about it though (like many I expect), I commute 40 miles a day in mine so get through a tank a week. However when I think about the mods I've done and how much fun I have driving it I know I woujld miss it too much !!

I'm just on the lookout for a diesel banger c£500 notes to do the commute instead

I did the Volvo thing a few years ago. It was an S80 T6 auto. Crap on juice, not particularly quick and just lacking that certain something. It did have plenty of goodies and very comfortable heated seats, but lasted three months before I was back in a Scooby!
