This is an odd thing, cos when I was in Halfords getting some plates made up, the guy said he wasn't allowed to do my plate up like:

G15 A JB

but he would make it up like

G15A JB

Very odd, as I thought the 3 letters couldn't be separated, but he said that was OK.

(Hint, company name is Gis-a-Job if you're wondering why the hell I wanted it like that - Sad ? Yes.)

Muppets be damned, I am making a serious point here.....

If the majority can see no ill here, then I guess that perhaps I have outgrown the marque (it was bound to happen I suppose as soon as Impreza's became more readily available)..

I would suggest that anyone who owns such a plate be given honorary membership of the Henson organisation.

Oh, and given Furry Dice!

Sounds like DA is jealous cos his number plate can't be made into anything interesting. I seen one (not a scoob) around Belfast F 11 COP, with a black screw between the 1's. I have to laugh every time

I guess the best thing you can do is sell your scooby , due to the fact that scoobys have become readily available to ordinary people........ I guess you probably ought to sell your house as well as its probably fallen in value since somebody drove a Subaru with a mis spaced number plate down your road....in fact its probably plummeted by at least 15 grand just as a result of you logging on today

There appears to be an alarming increase in the number of Impreza's I have seen with ridiculously spaced/made up number plates, which reflects poorly on the marque and should best be left to adolescents..

Quite the worst example I have seen is on a local P1 which is now adorned with the number plate "P1 1S GO"...

OH DEAR, THERE GOES THE NEIGHBOURHOOD!

Has anyone got/seen anything that can top this example of questionable taste?

Let 'em play. However, if they're reported to the DVLA they'll get a producer.

The DVLA now operate a "3 strikes and you're out" policy. Mis-space three times, and you lose the rights to the plate.

What harm is it doing though?

There is a DBM MY99 I see occasionally in Epsom driven by a dodgy looking guy with the number plate S600 BYX rearanged to spell S600BY X. Definitely lowers the tone...

Just out of interest anybody seen Sunilp recently he seems to have gone AWOL. Sad I know but I miss the banter between him and Dave TS!!!

You've outgrown the marque?

Do you buy a car because of the other people who drive the car and the type of people that they are?

If that is the case, then good luck in finding a brand/model of car that has no morons driving it.

I thought that most people who bought Impreza Turbos did so due to loving the type of car that it was and the satisfaction, etc. that they got from driving it, value for money, etc.

If some people want to do things to their cars that others wouldn't do to their own - well that would be the problems of living in a free society.

Live and let live...

Seriously guys, some of the numberplates I've seen take the mick.

Spacing the letters creatively ain't too bad in my book, but some of the fancy lettering that's avaialable just defies belief.

Personally, I'd rather not attract the attention of the boys in blue by doing anything daft to my numberplate, but then other people are entitled to do what they want.

It will all come to an abrupt end in March anyway, when all numberplates will have to comply. Anyone seen using a sub-standard numberplate will likely get a fine and a vehicle improvement notice.

Kurt

how did you knw about the mensa thing? I see we also have one very big SNOB here today. One of the most famous personalised numbers must be ROI 15. (ROLLS) It is on a Rolls Royce and apparently last changes hands for over 100 grand. If he wants to move in next door to me and devalue my neighbourhood then he is more than welcome. Other popular number include anything with 911 and combinations like M 5 BMW. Perhaps you have outgrown a hugh number of marques? Perhaps us working classes are rising up and commonising you upper class folks in a way you can't deal with?

If people want to have non-standard plates/fonts/spacings, pay extra for personalised plates - well so what? It's their choice.

With the number of people out there who go around stealing/vandalising/etc. our cars - surely this is a pretty minor annoyance (to some).

Imprezas are in general (IMHO) owned by enthusiasts. Let's not get a name for being snobs.

personally i think any sort of number plate is an eyesore, so why draw attention to it. Have it as small as possible. I don`t like chrome tax disc holders either but each to their own. live and let live.

Actually (anorak on) I think it's probably PEN 15. AFAIK when the 'S' reg came up they'd worked out what it said and never issued it (nor P155 OFF).

I too have seen the TUR80 numberplate on the Porsche. It looked pretty cool.

Steve Parrish's numberplate is indeed PEN1S, as seen on TV once!

There's a car local to me with the numberplate 8 That's gotta be worth a few quid.

Also remember seeing a white Merc once on that's life with OBO110X on the numberplate

Rikki, indeed you do Fancied a change
