Default Poss got £5K to play with....who can help me spend it

as per the title if I get a loan to spend on my car, I am looking for advice on where best to spend it.

The car is a 93 WRX, I got it with 33K on the clock 2 years ago but have had on going engine trouble.

I think my bottom end is on its way out so a rebuild is a must, suggestions for who to use & rough costs would be ace, I'm just north of London so local would be great?
I want to breather new life into the engine rather than go mad with power. I have a TD05, K&N Cone, Prodrive De-cat 3" S/S D-Pipe and Jap speed 3" S/S exhaust.

I also want to sort the handling out as its getting sloppy. I have Tien coilovers with solid top mounts already, that have covered less than 8K miles, what else would you guys suggest?
I have 16" speedline wheels, don't want to change them, I'm think Toyo T1R's all round as the tyres I have a crap.

I could just get a different car but the interior of this one is nearly mint and the bodywork is in really good condition. I have also spent out on a few body parts like spliter, crystal fogs, STI replica spoiler, sti 8 style big scoop (not the horrible skinny one).

Thanks in advance for any & all advice/help offered.

Chris

5K

Get a new car mate

If u have spent out on bits put them on the new car, why i say this is for the money u can get a very well running car with a few nice mods would be better off then fixing urs.

All the other parts u are left with sell on.

Iv just done this, got a new car for 7k then broke my old car and have made about 5k on it, so iv only paid 2k for my new one.

Buyers market mate

no offence mate but I'd never consider putting money I didn't have into a 15 year old car. You'll never ever get it back and I think you could get a nice sorted newer example with decent additions for the money you are proposing to spend on mods.

If you've not got spare cash in the bank to do this then I'd say break the car or sell it on as is. Getting a loan of £5k out to spend on a 15 year old Impreza won't see a massive difference from what you have now, and probably won't be worth much more than a similar car when you come to sell. Plus with a 15 year old car I'd expect other things would need replacing soon.

A 93 WRX is worth about what? £2-2500? You borrow 5 Grand (plus interest) and blow it on your 93 WRX and it will be worth? The grand sum of £2-2500!

I would say a sensible move would be to buy my MK2 GTI 16v and then go to Australia for a month

You're on a mission tonight aren't you

You could definitely get a nice bug for that money, possible a decent blob. Nice classic for about 5k, only very special ones are worth more than that.
