coolant loss...?

coolant loss...?
right here goes, sorry if it seems like a story.
i use my 04' sti well,...er,.....never.lol. it spends all its time locked away in my garage. i go and start it up every two weeks or so, (always has flat battery), and let it run until the cooling fan comes on a couple times. last time i checked the level of the coolant on the big clear bottle thats on the side of the radiator, it was just on the max line. this was a while ago. well,......after going to run the car today i noticed that the coolant is about an inch below the max line. there are no coolant stains anywhere that i can see and there is certainly none on the under tray / garage floor.
do these cars go through coolant or is it something to do with the fact that i dont use the car. or maybe,.........................do i have a leak somewhere?
