KEEP THE CAR ORIGINAL OR MOD IT???
I have spent the last few hour reading all types of differnt forums on this site, at the moment my sti nb-r looks good but feel I want to add some small mods, carbon lips etc and rear vortex and roof spoiler.
Anyway I suppose my question is from reading what some of the more seasoned members write, should I keep it original. And why do some people seem to always harp back to how the car looks when it was built and this is how they preffer them. I have seen some good looking classics and also some way over the top.
What is right, how far should you go before you have gone too far?
Or should you not go their at all?

Personally I love subtle changes with the car looking pretty much standard. Maybe lip front lip spoiler, tinted rear windows, nice and low, detango, debadging (did I just decribe a JDM then? ). Not into vortex generators though...... I did have a newage WRX before my STi and modded the exterior to look similar to an STi - no STi badges though
Its all relative and at the end of the day its your car, so do what makes you happy. If you want to stick a mahooooosive bodykit on then the world is your lobster out there. Chargespeed looks good on new age. I think the money is better spent under the bonnet and chassis.........Worth remembering though if it is a special edition it may be worth keeping any mods reversable.
Sounds good coming fom a person with a standard car

Mod as you see fit, it's your car. Don't worry about what others think, you'll always get differing opinions on here.
For me a few subtle mods to the cosmetics is fine, no lairy graphics for me, but others go to town on theirs, big spoilers, 19" rims, graphics, big scoops etc.

Keep 'em reversable, then its not devalued. Or keep to popular mod's which most people want, but then it is not as individual I suppose ....or what about these

I have done some research on this and what Ive so far found out is that 100 of these were made glabally, they were produced by subaru to celebrate the winning of the 2001 WRC championship.
They have paddle shift and a triptonic box, they run as standard 250 bhp and have all of the same parts as an STI. Only available as imports, mine was brought in with 15 miles on the clock brandnew from subaru Japan. And higher spec than a UK STI. I opted for this car because I am disabled and wanted a saloon subaru.
I have put a listing on this forum asking if anyone has any further info.
The log book does say subaru impreza STI NB - Type R

Styling mods I like subtle, standard looking but upgraded as in optional extras like splitters and wheels etc... Always with a relatively easy route back to standard where ever possible.
Performance mods are a different kettle of fish. Yours sounds like it's a road as opposed to competition car so don't go power mad. Make it a better and faster drive by all means, but again keep the original parts and be prepared to return to standard if you decide to sell. You may not do it but you will want it as an option.
Don't try and mod it cheaply. Always buy the best, whether they be after market or OEM parts.
I never "mod" my cars, I upgrade and personalise them
