99 buys/sells and 100% feedback, you may as well mail him to see about the car.

Already have. Probably scam. Could be knackered engine and no means to fix.

We'll see.

It might be perfectly legitimate, there are desperate people out there at the moment.

Saw that on Pistonheads, not sure what it's on there for but I seem to remember it being at the cheaper end of the scale. It may well be a bargain however the current private plate P1 YOB would be enough to put me off. It forms a picture in my head of what the current owner may be like and on that basis I would say its been well abused over the time he's had it

Don't like the twin headlight conversion either.

Most of the good condition P1s on PH are around the £9-10k mark, I know that other than the 22B this is the dogs danglies as far as UK classics go but its a lot of money for an 8 year old car, especially as a normal MY00 Turbo 2000 Classic would be worth £5k at the very best. You can also get an early blobeye STI for not much more cash and usually with a few goodies like PPP thrown in.

Well that does not add up as the car in the picture on ebay is located in Twickenham (London) and same car on Pistonheads Subaru : 2000 Subaru Impreza P1 Limited Edition.
is Gloucestershire, as said the base line price is very low/too low so buyer beware......

Could be first owner knew it was about to go and let it go cheaper than advertised.

Current owner has also realised its about to go and wants shot even quicker.

Probably knocking its **** off or something. I'll see if I get a decent answer.

Even if the engine is fubar'ed it would be a decent buy if you could throw another £2.5 k at a rebuild!

Mark

It rings a bell with me too.....not quite the same pics though as I seem to remember the last set of pics showed the grill surround half off.

Mind you it doesn't look too secure in these pics either LOL

The above car is being sold by a guy called Nick and he is in Gloucestershire. This is the guy I was reffering too earlier!

It would appear that there are two sellers of the same car:

1. In Cirencester for £7k; and
2. In Twickenham for £4k?

Something strange going on here.

So the Twickenham one is most likely to be a scam. He's seen the advert on PH, copied it, and is now using it to try and scam money out of some unfortunate punter

Assuming the worst, I have just emailed the Pistonheads seller as I know the chap and I think someone might be trying to rip him off. I hope that's not the case, but there are too many people out there with the wrong intentions.

hi,
i would like you to know that the car is in excellent condition - inside and outside, mechanical and electrical. i will be shortly, as I have many inquiries: UK specs, UK plates, UK supplied, no liens and condition like new! there is no catch here, the price is real, the only reason why we are selling the car is that we have moved house in Madrid, Spain and we would like to buy a new left hand drive van. i would rather sell the car than put in storage (which is still a valid option). The car is stored in a warehouse in London and it will be shipped from there. The full price is 4,300 pounds with shipping costs included. The transaction will be done through eBay for our own protection. Your funds will be 100% insured by eBay and I will be sure that I will receive the payment, this way both of us will start the deal with good faith so we can take it to a smooth end. After the payment is cleared and confirmed by eBay i will ship you the car in no time. You will have 10 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep the car or not. Once the car arrives if you find it different then i describe it you will be refunded by eBay and you wont lose nothing. If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and shipping address so I can initiate the deal through eBay.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
kind regards,
lee hope
Reply from ebayer (scammer)

Proper scam. Just got email from the actual owner from PH website.

Ebay is bloody useless.

Default P1 for sale

I would like to thank you all for bringing this to my attention the seller in Twickenham is a scam, I am the real owner and i live in gloucestershire the car is up for sale at 7750 the reason for that is i want to sell it for a bigger car. The engine is fine and the car has only done 5k in 3 years as it was only used at weekends for pleasure not for commuting. There is nothing wrong with it and if you contact me through piston heads i will be glad to chat to you. I am very ****ed off at the moment as you can probably imagine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have contacted ebay and reported this listing and am removing the no plate for security of the car !!
Thanks again for all your help
