Is there any one at scoobynet who i can speak to regarding the way i,ve
been ripped off by scoobynet member.
i sent my cheque for £130 it was cashed on the 26/9/08 the new hawkeye
grilles i paid for have not arrived the person i bought them will not answer
is email. despite sending several requests asking him to contact me.
my only course of action is to take him to the small claims court to retrieve

If you did not put your cheque card number on the back, then you have 28days to claim that money back. So phone or go to your bank asap and say you have been robbed. Then there will take the money back from his account.

as long as befor 28days you can claim from the bank and the bank will take from his bank account, i bought some ebay items some moons ago, dont use paypal as you get ripped so sent cheques but never got ant items. Bank stoped them on the 18th day.

There seems to be a lot of this going on, on Scoobynet at the moment.....what's happenning???

I think the popularity of the forum must be attracting the scumbag thieving fraternity that see a way of making a quick buck with little fear of repercussion.

I would just say do a little bit of research on people before you buy things off them. Look through their previous posts and things, see if they are regular contributors to the site, see if they are members of any of the clubs, see if anyone else has had problems with them, etc, etc.

I know it's no consolation to you now like eh?

Strange that he gave out his address though if he was going to rip you off. What's to stop you turning up at his door "hello mate, where's my fookin grilles"?? Maybe he's on holiday or something??

To much of this going on lately. There should be a rep system for selling so people can leave feed back on the sellers would stop alot of this.

Right,

Going to re surrect this thread as this has just happened to me from the exact same seller, and for the same thing(grilles), the OP has informed me by PM that he got his grilles after sending a threating letter.

Looks like i will have to do the same first thing on Mon, or maybe i will just drive down to his house, i dont mind the drive from Scotland as no way is some C**t ging to rip me off, no Fu**ing chance.

its easy with hindsight to have searched for his threads and looking at them he sells a lot of stuff so until i came across this one and having got in touch with the OP i thought i was just be a delay.

The cheque was cashe on the 1st Jan and i have PMed him twice and also e mailed him, next stage a threatining letter and possible home visit, lol

Any other suggestions????

Glad the admin are setting some sort of feedback system up as there is more and more of this happening.

A very pi*sed of Mac.

On the subject though, I only joined this forum a few days ago and I've seen 3 or 4 of these stories already. Shame, because it's a very busy forum, others I go on usually are pretty dead.

Dont get me wrong bud, it will be a last resort if all else fails, but if it comes to it after all other avenoes have been exausted i WILL go down there.

I personally think i will get the grilles after i send some threatining leters and if needs be i will take him to court after speaking to the police.

However i should have not had to if :

1. i had searched for all his posts.

2. If SN had a feedback sysyem.

Its easy with hindsight but SN in the past has been a grat source of genine enthusiasts selling off stuff that they no longer need, now its turning into a buisness for some sellers, the amount of stuff steveo21 has sold tells me that he is a small time trader who gets free advertising IMO instaed of paying trader rates.

Most of his threads(600 odd) are of him selling something.

if after all this i get my grilles i will make it my buisness to point all his future potential purchasers of steveo21 to this thread.

This is where the search feature has given conmen an advantage

before the search system was changed and only paid members can use it, i would search all posts by the said user selling something and see if there were any issues on his threads.

scoobynet to blame aswell as dodgy sellers i think

it's only £5 to become a member though so no real excuse is it.

agree with this 100%, while you shouldn't have to pay to be not ripped off. £5 over a year to be able to search previous posts for info, which in similar cases like this is worth every penny imho. Anyway webby is making the search available to all members soon.

Its still crap and i hope you get your grilles matey.

As others have said, this kind of practice is becoming more regular, to combat the issue the feedback idea, restricted sales until a positive reputation/certain amount of posts made should be implemented I believe.

I fooking hate people who think they can rip decent people off!!
