On the way into work this morning I noticed that Tesco (Kingston, Milton Keynes) have dropped normal unleaded to 99.9p like all the others around here but have stuck 2p a litre on 99RON making it 110.9
It was certainly 108.9 on Friday on the way home. I'll be checking out my local Shell as I'm sure they are cheaper for V-Power.

I've swapped to Tesco 99 now for the first time. Been using Shell in all my performance cars for the last 12 years but they've been so much dearer recently than Tesco that it's made me try it.
Tesco 99 is 104.9 here and V-Power is now 106.9 but they held it at 111.9 while Tesco dropped straight away from 107.9 to 104.9

Now try to stop the government putting at least 2p on the fuel tax!
Tesco 99 seems every bit as good as V-Power in my STi (albeit modified) I've found V-Power can vary, on occasions.

Tesco changed it again this morning I noticed. 95RON = 97.9ppl, 99RON = 109.9ppl still an increase from what it was last week and petrolprices.com reporting 99 as 104.9 which is definitely wrong.
Always been the same issue with V-Power/Optimax. It isn't the most stable and goes off as it gets older. Therefore they can't guarantee what rating it will be when it comes out of the pump just that it will be 99 minimum. The fresher it is the more fizz it has basically.
(That's the simple version at least - and yes should be 100 or so when it leaves the refinary)

I filled up at my local Shell and V Power was 119.9p and the regular unleaded was 104.9p!!!!
Needless to say i'll be going elsewhere next time, even if it is a little less 'local'.
