Tyres on Spec C 17s??
Right folks, i know before anyone starts i,ve posted a thread in the tyre forum asking about this, but it gets more attention here..
What MAKE OF TYRE and tyre size have you on your 17" rims on your Spec C when the 235s have given up the ghost??
Reason i,m asking, i believe the 235s are not a UK tyre, correct???
If you have renewed them with this size, where from pleease???

You will have 235/40/17 RE070 Potenza rubber. UK cars get 225/40/17.

Keep searching Ebay etc & you may find 235/45/17 RE07 nearly new for a reasonable price, otherwise expensive imported new.
Or else Toyo Proxy (can get with stiffer sidewalls); or Verdestein Ultrasac or Goodyear Eagle F1, all good & IIRC avaliable in 235 size

T1-R's are a good road tyre. I have been using these for nearly 3yrs on the Spec C.

I found these to be one of the most horrible tyres ever. Screech like hell going around bends at even normal driving speeds and made the car very skittish under heavy braking. I will never use these again. So much for Powerstations recommendation of them.

Likewise.
So as not to start a new thread - anyone got any thoughts beyond "might be a bit better in the rain" from someone who may or may not be in a ditch?

For the money, I think they're a great tyre. My car has never been skittish under heavy braking (and I mean "heavy" lol). Took them to the max at ScoobyLive 2008 Handling, but still managed to be the quickest out of anyone on normal road tyres.
Each to their own I guess.

Pete,
I wish... Simon de Banke was driving my car at that event.
Current system is a 3" Miltek decat with straight through centre section.

I have the regular ones at the moment but they will need changing soon and will be going for the asymmetric ones.
