Default 400bhp Sti 2.5

Subaru : Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2.5. 400+ BHP

Does anyone know this car, as the owner says he purchased it from a Scoobynetter??

Thinking of swapping my 350bhp Evo6 for it.

Would you???

I would say it would probably struggle to be 400 bhp with a 20g. Especially as its mapped conservatively at 1.2 bar.

Thats what I was thinking.
I'd say 390ish but to be over that, an MD321T would be needed, which would give nearer the 500 he's claiming.

It has the same characteristics as a TD05-20g, ie, spool up, but I think its a roller bearing IHI turbo?

Wonder if he's got mixed up?
Surely a 20g is running out of puff at 400?

A "good" TD05/06 20G is quite capable of 400bhp on a 2.5

"""""Moderately mapped for reliability but can be mapped for max power to over 500+ BHP easily but seriously quick enough. currently running 1.2 bar but can be adjusted in-car up to 2 if you are mad enough. """""""

This is the bit I'm worried about.

Aye, that's understandable. Last few from Harvey have ran out of puff at about 420/430bhp. Running 1.5/1.6 bar.

When I was on the phone to him today, he said its running 418/410.

Dont get me wrong, I had a 320/320 UK turbo and there wasnt a lot could touch it around where I live, and this should have 100/100 more than that!!

But is it worth swapping an Evo6 for?? Mine is running 350bhp and feels like my old Impreza.

Also, what would you consider its worth? Definately not £9500

If you are interested in the car. Firstly ask him to come with you to an independent speccialist of your choice to get a rolling road done. Then if ok (as the spec is good) offer him £8k and go from there. I think it is worth more than that but in this market ........

Also says its a standard V5 Sti clutch thats in it which I'm presuming was changed during the gearbox rebuilt.

I didnt think the standard clutch would be any good for 400lbs of torque?

I put a standard UK clutch in my 320bhp UK turbo as people said it would be ok but it bent the diaphrams in 7 weeks and was replaced under warranty.
