Default lost my MOT certificate

i think it expires around 2nd week of sept but unsure.

How can i find out exactly what date it expires and am i right in assuming that i will not need the old certificate for a new MOT?

thanks

If it was a computer issused on you can go to MOT centre and they should be able to print you another one. If its that close to expiry probably easier just to get it MOT'd now and if it will be automatically post dated to when the orginal finished.

Just go get another MOT so it overlaps the current one.
You dont need your old one btw.

Im guessing my current MOT finishes sept 10th. So if i got it done today does that mean my new MOT certificate will be date from Sept 10th or 11th?

Say i got it done a few days later on sep 15th. Would they backdate the new certificate?

thanks again

If I recall you can MOT a car up to a Month early and have the new cert with 13 months on it, but I think you need to hand over the old MOT or have it available at the time of testing. If you go back to the original test centre where you had it done they should have you in their records. You can get a replacement but they will charge for it again. Not sure how much though.........

With the computer based MOT tickets you dont have to produce your old one because the computer automatically post dates it. They wont back date them.

Agree
Upto one month before its due to expire so in affect you have a MOT for 13 months but you need the old one for that to work.
Without the old one it will only be 12 months unless its at the same garage and your on the books. They may charge to have the old one printed again.
Just get a new one mate from whatever day you have it done, sooner the better.

If you have it done on the 15th then not only might you be running around with no MOT for a few days but also run the risk if it dont pass first time then you must have all the work done that it failed on straight away, so in affect you wont have any saving grace if it dont pass say tomorrow.
Hope that makes sence
