Default WRX 3 year service

Just been quoted £495 for the 3 year service on a 2005 2.0 WRX by my nearest subaru dealership
The 2nd closest is 50 miles away and they want £430.

Is this the going rate or are they having a laugh?

I've been told it's a major service and they change the plugs, filters, transmission oils etc but even so

I know it doesn't compare but the wifes Zafira has just had it's 3 year service at a pucker Vauxhall dealership and that came in at under £200

I know what you mean mate. They are to very different cars though and yes that is the going rate. You could find a specialist though.

Also need an MOT, probably new front brake pads, 4 tyres and renew insurance.
Septembers not going to be a good month

It's one of the annoying thing about cars - all the costs come at once. Next year some people are going to have the £450 road tax, insurance, service and consumables to cough up for at the same time. This will be well over a grand for everyone and probably a lot more for many others.

I just had mine 30K service done on my 300 and it was £410 in Cardiff. So yours sounds a little over the odds. Oil and labour is the biggest part.

MOT to do in the morning...

Tax Insurance and a service all in a month is a big hit. I know...

I've just been looking at the service book and I'm wondering if the price I've been quoted includes the 3 year body inspection/service as this is also due.
When the car was 1 year old my dealership at the time wanted an extra £100+ to do this and like many other owners I told them to poke it.
I'll speak to the dealership to check but it might explain it.

Do you know if your service included changing the pollen filter because if it does I might do that myself to save some cash.

I'm in Essex and the car's still in warranty for the next month and a bit so I wanted to stick with Subaru dealership for this one.

Has anyone any good/bad experiences of AMC in Chelmsford.

Mate ring Condor Subaru in Peterbrough.
Very good prices and worth the trip plus the bird on reception has massive bangers (Wicked)
Ive started using AMC due to it being very close to my HQ
Not a bad service tbh, but not that cheap and not to metion they have only just taken over from Days of Chelmsford so not sure on the staff but ive had no problems from them yet.

Could try Mocom racing in Harlow if not

Anyone can service it as long as they use parts of equal or superior quality, have you tried Mocom or Xtreme Scoobies, never let a dealer service mine from new but always used a specialist and they stamp the book
