Martin,
you seem to think it is good that a cossie can go fast with a knackered engine. So? If you jump off a cliff, you can also go very fast, but just like the cossie, not for very long.

How do we plead??
Disinterested!!
The Scoob is obviously an unmodified UK spec. car going slowly, while the Cossie is obviously well modified and trying harder.
If you all think that constitutes a win to the RS Brigade then you spend WAY too much time with your cars...get out more!!!
At least the Scoob doesn't break down as much as the RS seems to!
BTW, before becoming the SIDC circuit Instructor (I could beat the lot of you round Knockhill on my mountain bike!!), I was a Subaru dealer, and before that, a Ford dealer; so I know what I'm talking about!!
If you want us all to come up for a combined Track day to show you a trick or two, just let Stef know and we will happily oblige.
Rob.

Stage 1.
Oh the 'vid' is quite good, and the driver of the cossie obviously isn't any slouch but "Just thought it was a good wee vid to show that some owners know how to drive their cars" isn't how you posted it on the RS board so you've gotta expect some stick back. But dont get me onto talking about sheep

Hmm,
You lot still go on about the "legendary" Scoob reliability.
Would've thought that's getting kind off hard to swallow nowadays with the quantity of cars having problems...including myself.....
It's getting very sad when all anyone can come up with is "yeah, but it's not reliable is it?" or words to that effect, when comparing to Cossies. It's bull - they're no more reliable or unreliable, especially when track days come into the equation.

Scooby Regular
I have a sh1te old Rover 216 H-Reg, and it would **** on the lot of you....
..off that cliff that was mentioned.
You cant miss me if you see me, as I will be the one wrapped up warm like an eskimo - the flaming heater has gone, but I have to keep it blowing (cold air) or the window mists up. It's like sitting in a strong wind in Siberia. :O

i was there that day.
the black cossie is very quick but it is running 27psi !!!!!!! the black subaru is a my93 or 94 with 15inch alloys and the guy was a total novice. i have had a go with that black cossie and although is was quicker coming out of the hairpin i stayed ahead of him twice and i am only running 17psi. i let him over take me in the third lap because he was dangerous. that day i wiped *** of all subarus and cossies that were there. there was another fast cossie that was modified by bill grear running 24psi but i was faster than him until he blew his engine. so your point is ?
beeen there done that and have it on video. subarus are faster than coosie to a certain extent but if you have more that 100bhp advantage your are in a different league all together.
sam
next top marques day bring your video camera because i will be there

hehe - I knew someone from the board would be there!
Did his car go the whole day? He is usually replacing the head gasket in the que to get back on!
If you were staying ahead of him and he was dangerous how could he affect you unless what your saying is that you were slower?

the car that almost blew up was silver escort. there was also a black seira.
what didn't you get in my previous post ?
off course his car is quicker but he still did not have enough power to over take without me BRAKING at the end of the straight just before duffus dip!!!!!. if the pit straight was longer maybe he could have overtaken me ( theortically ) watching him in my mirrors he almost hit me twice trying to outbrake me, but i have AP brakes so that did not work and he ended up sideways couple of times forcing me to take a very wide entry, well i don't know about you but i would call that dangerous myself.
this is my only car so i can't afford to change head gaskets in the que.
so how about you can your car beat a UK scooby like mine ?

Was the silver escort stripped out or a road car?
In a straight line yes but round bends probably not as its a 2wd and I have as much driving skill as a 2 year old
Especially on twisty greasy knockhill as my car is laggy laggy wheelspin laggy laggy wheelspin but it would be fun.
I was going to do the next sidc tracknight but I'm jobless and johnS hasnt sent me anything so doubt I will get to it. Would give everyone a good target though - me out in my stage 1 chip cossie
Dont think they will let me in top marque days next year but might do some hot hatch days if I feel brave

Looks soooo slidy that day! - my car was slidy on a summers night when I was out for 4 laps till my rear brakes melted off the car! Still managed to beat the companies group N evo 4 until my middle pedal dissapeared!
Nice car sam shame theres not more footage
