ive got a uk my00 red mica. on wednesday im going to scoobysport for the downpipe and midsection, and their big rear spoiler.
ive got the prodrive suspension upgrade, and at the moment ive got anthracite 17" monacos on her. however, i dont think they look dark enough, and i'm tempted by the MiM ones that scoobysport do.
anyone got these? any better suggestions??
any advice appreciated coz i wasted enough on the monacos and dont wanna get it wrong again.
many thanks!

Spudgun,

I am sure somebody could tell you the site ... but there is one where you can try out different kinds of wheels on different coloured scoobs etc ... and they'll change the image so you can mix and match and find out what you like or don't ... I'm afraid I can't remember the site that's all and with no search facility .......

I know someone who has just changed from MIM wheels to P1 wheels and noticed a big improvement in handling. This could be down to the different offset of the wheels. Subaru recommend 52mm as the P1 wheels. The MIM's are 45mm(I think). This might be a red herring as he was using So2's on the MIM wheels and changed to P Zero's on the P1's. Although S02's are reputed to be about the best you can get. Might be worth trying before you buy ? I'm sure Pete could oblige.

Steve.

Why wast your money changing the wheels again?
Just find a paint colour you like (the early yellow T5`s had dark anthracite rims),get your local tyre shop to remove the rubber and get the re-sprayed to any colour you like!!

i see your point about them getting resprayed, but to be honest i prefer the multispoke design more now, rather than the wheels i got put on by the dealer (technomagnesio monacos...i think). my girlfriend managed to wangle a set of P1's and they look much bigger and suit her car more. any suggestions really appreciated.
by the way, if the offset is supposed to be 52, why do scoobysport sell wheels with a 45 offset? does this create problems?
thanks

I Prefer the OZ Super T`s,as the spokes look longer than the mim`s.
The mims look ok but the centre is to big and flat!
ALL YOU MIM OWMERS DONT START MOANING!JUST MY WORTHLESS OPINION!!!

ive seen pics of the super t's and think they look great, but what offset are they, and will it make a difference? i have prodrive suspension, will that create problems? and what does the rubber bit in the wheel arches actually do? dont wanna screw too much with my car, i'm just a bit dubious about taking bits off that were originally meant to be there if ya see what i mean.
thanks for the help so far

I think its 51mm.
My brothers got a set on his type r.
There designed only to fit the scoob.I think there identical to the P1 wheels apart from having more spokes, which i would imagine makes them stronger if you hit a pothole etc.

The OZ SuperT (evo summat, that has room for 4-potters up front), has a max offset of 48mm.

Several of my m8s has them on their scoobs in 17x7, and with 215/40x17 you'll have to remove the rear rubber protective strip on the rear wheel arch. With 205/45x17 PZero's that isn't needed.

They're a pain in the @rse o clean tho, and besides...5/6-spokes looks soooo much better on the scoob.

Spudgun,

Just realised, cos I've actually had a look now, doh, that the site posted by evo5uk isn't the one I was thinking of ... but I'm sure it's just as good.

Good luck

Impossible to clean!!
My brother takes them off once in a while to get all the brake dust from the inside B4 it bakes on!
Ive got the compomotive five spokes which are easy to clean, you can get your hands between the spokes to clean the insides without having to remove the wheels!

In my opinion (which doen't count for much!) I like the Prodrive PD7's in athracite or the P1 rims. I also agree that multispokes are really difficult to keep clean, what they are good for though is hiding the rear drums on my 106 !!!

so what difference does the offset make?
i like the mims and i like the oz super t's.
im going to scoobysports on wednesday, and i appreciate they know what they are doing with regards to suspension , fitting wheels etc etc. so does an offset of 45 make a difference?
sorry i'm a bit of an ignoramus when it comes to technical stuff... but i'm learning!

The offset is the measurment from the centre of the wheel to the mounting surface of the wheel.
I.e If you run a 51 mm offset then your wheels will sit in more under the arches than if you were running a 45mm offset.
I cant comment on what differences it makes to the scoobs handling, but i know on vauxhalls it makes huge difference(it stops the car tramlining and helps prevent torque steer)

so as i understand it, if i bought the mims they would fill my wheelarches a lot more ( which would look cool i think) but aren't the correct offset, so would this mean my car would look great, but would handle poorly?
i cant understand why scoobysport would fit these to their cars then? or have i missed something?

If you fit the MIM which have 45 offset they will more than likely foul the rear arches unless you remove the plastic lip.

I have the same wheels and they do foul the arch

Just my 10p worth
