Price of a GENUINE spoiler.........
Just checked, dealers will sell me a GENUINE STI5, or 6 spoiler for...........wait for it............£1750 plus VAT, so a total of £2056.25 and then I have to have it painted
My car already has one, but it's f/glass and is beginning to bubble, ripple and crack
Mind, it HAS been on there four years

You sure mate? The prodrive ones are only around £800 and they are usually the pricey parts. I'm sure newage spoilers are cheaper than that, so either because it's an old part and difficult to source or your dealer is having a giraffe.
try scoobyworld they have PU rear spoilers as I did not want fibreglass as was told they would bubble and chip when the water got in them, bought an sti 8 one off them, in fact they have even used my car as the example picture on the site. I think it fits well and being PU like the original should wear better, only time will tell though.
I think Seibon do a C/F spoiler in a similar style to the Prodrive one for around £400. Could always get it painted if you didn't like the gloss c/f finish.

Just pick up a secondhand genuine one.
I managed to get a genuine P1 spoiler for around £300-£350 a few years back....just couldn't justify it in the end and just got rid.

Bob: yeah, I kept hold of my kecks, mate
I've had a P1 spoiler offered, but can't see my way to fitting it, as my car isn't a P1.
I've tried e-bay and several breakers, but the genuine article is like rocking-horse sh*t.
