I knew that being in IT would be useful one day and today may just be the one. Reading Computer weekly they have got a very small article (on page 4 of issue 11/1/01 if interested) which I shall quote as follows:
'Subaru Buyers to track car history over web'
'Subaru is to give buyers of its cars set-up personalised web pages which track the car's maintenance history, identified by means of the VIN. The site taps into the proprietry Subaru database that tracks these numbers and updates service records as work is carried out by dealers according to warranty agreements. the offer of a web page is open initially to the 20,000 owners who bought Subaru's between 1999 and 2001 and will be offered to all new purchasers from this month'
So endeth the article. I thought it was interesting anyway, sorry I haven't got any links.

I work with Mr Straker, and believe me, he is not kidding when he says he doesn't do anything!
