ADVICE FOR TUNING CLASSIC TO 330 BHP
Right then guys, i've just finished the exterior of my car and i'm really happy with the way it looks. So now i'd like to move onto the engine and give the car as much go as show......so to speak.
I'd like to achieve a figure of about 330 BHP.
Mods to the car at the the moment consists of a Full blitz Nur spec-r exhaust system 3" bore with a wrapped decat downpipe and a pipercross induction kit. Apart from that the car is standard. Please could you advise me on some options i could take to get the required bhp figures.
I would like to run a FMIC as i would maybe like to go further than the 330bhp figure so it'll save me the hassle of swapping later on.
Thanx guys, Look forward to your options.
This is my car by the way

Hi mate, just got my car back yesterday with a few more mods and am really really happy with the car, it pulls like a train.
I originally got 305bhp/301lbft torque on the rolling road with the following mods:
-haltech ecu
-kakumei headers and up-pipe
-h+s openmouth downpipe
-blitz nur-spec r system
-walbro 255 fuel pump
-aeromotive regulator
-g-reddy boost controller
-FMIC
-standard TD04 turbo
That was 6 months ago and i have now just got the car back with the following mods completed:
-TD05 turbo
-Nismo 740cc injectors
-Parallel fuel rail
-Samco oversized intake pipe with trumpet and blitz induction kit
-Uprated spark plugs
-Antilag
Very big difference this time and car pulls like a train to the limiter at 7200rpm and feels so torquey and lifty. I would recommend the TD05 turbo for you or the VF35 as these seem to be good for the power you are looking for. Thought the td05 would have been very sudden boost of power but the boost seems to come in nicely through the rev range and the car is mapped really well.
My tuner reckons i am getting 360/350 and judging by the way the car feels i would say he is spot on. Are you running standard ecu or thinking of aftermarket options?? The best thing i done was getting rid of the standard ecu and the crappy MAF which i had replaced 3 times in a year!!
If you are looking for around 330bhp then maybe the andy f td04 hybrid would be good as its a real quick spooler and could maybe get near 330bhp, but id suggest you think about how far you will want to go power wise, as you dont want to be having to replace the turbo again for a larger one on down the line when your turbo runs out of puff
Thats my opinions anyway....im off for a drive in the car now again
Kevin

how many ways are tehre to skin a cat? alot, same to get 30bhp lol
personaly i've done
vf34
front mount intercooler
decat exhaust
induction kit
autronics ecu (although stand alone ecu might be not needed, but does do away with the dreaded maff sensor)
then supporting mods
uprated clutch
uprated gearbox
oilcooler
nock link
set of decent gagues
uprated brakes
remember though its only as strong as your weakest part
