Hi all what is the max boost pressure in BAR that can be safely acheived from the IHI vf 22 TURBO which i believe is fitted to the sti v6 RAs. Thanks

 

It's rated at 1.8bar. Got one on my 97 wrx.

 

what power can these make bhp and torque figures please

what is the equivilent turbo vf35, td05 18g ?
etc

i would not run one at 1.8 bar, mine spectacular failed at 70 000 miles on my 97 wrx running a peak of 1.35bar and usually holding 1.1 bar.

when i stripped it down the main bearing had collapsed and the blades had all smashed into the side wall and shattered into tiny little bits into the intercooler, i also found some of the bits of metal as far back as the air filter

 

1.8 bar wow, can they maintain that boost reliably.

 

seriously doubt it
