Have you been pulled by the cops?

Had my scooby just 3 weeks and got pulled last night, for what the officer described as "just a routine check to see if the car is not stolen - as apparently 1 in 20 of these cars are".
Appreciate why they pulled me, just hope it does not keep happening.
So can anyone beat 3 weeks before they first got stopped for a "routine check"

Believe it or not the Police do get a buzz from arresting car thieves and proper criminals, and the way we get most results.....
By stopchecking cars.
If you drive a popular car with thieves, then its going to happen!

fingers crossed no, not in the scooby. I got pulled a few hours after picking up my last car though, and I used to get pulled over all the time when I had my uno turbo.

Do you all remember the guys that busted a group of youths out of court last year and escaped in a silver scoob. Well muggings here was driving across London that night and got pulled 3 times over 6 miles of inner city driving.
On the second occassion my mother phoned to say that a car like mine was on the TV and that police were stopping vehicles fitting that description. Too late I replied!! - bless her.

Oh no! Ive got a silver scoob!
Got stopped just before Christmas on the motorway cos I had "mis-spaced" the letters on my s6ooby number plate!!!
Must admit, its probably a more serious offence than that of HI-JACK and ASSAULT.
My number plate says s6ooby, now if it said $*)+&^, I could understand that it is totally illegible and deserves a custodial sentance!!!
The fact that it IS legible, albeit with "space" removed...well I just think that there more important things that need attention.
No smiley cos I aint smilin'.
Moles Dad.

If it makes you feel any better, I've been stopped at least half a dozen times on my way home from DUTY, never in the Scoobie mind. Normally because its in the wee small hours and I'm driving an elderly Ford. Before you ask if I inform them of my chosen profession, I don't, cause often its more hassle then its worth (and I'm not in uniform either!!! )

Not as far as I know. However, there has been cases when members of the public have sued the Police, after they have claimed they been stopped/searched/arrested numerous times for no apparent reason. In almost every case it's been thrown out. You never hear about those,as it's a much better story to print how someone has been paid out X-amount of pounds.
Just a thought,

I was pulled over by an area car a few weeks back, followed me at 90 (doh - dual carriageway late at night). Got out, had a chat, he confirmed the car was mine and after a quick look round the Scoob he let me go. Nice friendly bloke about my age (29). I don't mind being randomly pulled over if it is like this and if it makes the crims think twice.
It hasn't always been this way though, but thats another story.

I got pulled over late one night, although I was doing 115mph on an empty bit of straight bit of motorway with lighting on my way to pick up my distressed girlfriend after an incident.
I passed the unmarked Volvo and when I stopped and got out, he said "Do you know what spped you were doing?" I replied "Much more than I should be officer" so as not incriminate myslef by admitting the actual speed.
He said "I've just gone off duty and if you were 30 mins earlier you'd be in trouble, just keep your speed below 90mph and you'll be alright" I was so relieved.
Just as I was about to get back in the car he said "Nice quick cars them Impreza's, we should have a load on the Northumbria Force"
Needless to say I pulled off and kept my speed to 70mph and a Ford Focus flew past me and the cop car behind pulled out and off he went after him.

The cops are a nightmare! But not all the time, you have to appriciate that they are doing there job and our scoobys are cars that are targeted by criminals. I have been stoped a total of 19 times in 1 year nearly. But I dont mind as it only takes a minute as they check, if it was your car stolen you would be happy if the police recovered it by stop checking. Who are the first people we call when our cars are nicked?? Yep the police.
I dont mind the police its just some of them ruien it, bad eggs everywhere.
