Default Buying my first subaru help needed

I have just been to look at a wrx from a Mitsubishi garage but there are a few things a bit dodgy any advice would be good
It is up in autotrader as STI when it is a wrx
Has a different spoiler with a prodrive sticker on
I was told it has the ppp fitted but there was no sticker on the engine and he did not have the certificate
A dump valve has been fitted, Is this part of the PPP?
It had a Milltek sports exhaust are these any good? Will it pas the MOT?

I have been told it has had no other mods but I am not sure and want to know for insurance

on the plus side it was only £9500 for a 2004 54 2.0 wrx with 36,000 and it could have more mods

Does this look like a good deal ?

Thanks for any comments

If in doubt, walk away.
There are lots of scoobs out there to choose from, this one doesnt have the PPP exhaust, though Miltex are a good make, the dv isnt standard, and its also not a part of the PPP.
You need to visit a subaru dealer with the chassis number and reg to see if the car is fitted with an official PPP.
Check for full service history, though if your thinking of modding, dont get a wrx, find a nice STi instead

I'm currently in the process of looking for a new Scooby, and have found several ads that advertise a WRX as an STi. Maybe the dealers are just clueless and it may be just a genuine mistake.
But usually its easy to distinguish between an STi and a WRX...
STi has gold brembos, rear arch extension, blue interior, STi on written on intercooler etc etc.

The spoiler you are talking about could be a UK300 Prodrive one, but can't be sure unless you have pics.

Don't have PPP fitted myself, but have read that once fitted, Subaru always issue a certificate.

Should pass an MOT...I've got an Afterburner Vortex which is VERY loud and had no problems... best bet is to get the dealership to do an MOT for you before you buy it.

Finally, I have seen a few standard 55-plate WRXs with around 25k going for £10k, one of them was from a Subaru main dealer as well.

Seconds to that, best of luck with the search though. If you're happy to pay the premium, maybe best starting at a main dealer IMHO....
