Anybody had the 22.5K mile service done recently on a UK turbo ?
If so, what did it cost you ? I am about to book mine in and want to make sure that I am not quoted over the odds.
Thanks in advance,
Andrew.

Well, I have had a few replys from iwoc as well, and the cost seems to range from 60 - 275 pounds !!!!
I have been quoted 70 pounds including VAT by AF Noble which seems reasonable, although considering its just an oil and filter change, I wonder if there is gold shavings in the oil ???

Perhaps I shouldn't get involved but
All Subaru dealers are the same, and all are different - let me explain.
The basic 7.5, 22.5, 37.5K service cost is made up of 4, and only 4 items.
Labour - 0.9 of an hour, ie 54 mins of time. Set by Subaru UK.
Oil filter - 15208AA060, Cost 10.11 + VAT
Sump plug washer - 11126AA000, Cost 0.71 + VAT
Oil - Depends on dealer, there is no real RRP for oil, as there is for parts. We don't get the oil from Subaru UK, we source it ourselves. Our dealership charges £21.38 for 4.5 Ltrs of 10W40 Semi Synthetic.
Thus total cost 77.20 + VAT - £90.71 inc
On top of that we add engine oil flush (good gear, trust me) and screen wash (46p), bringing the total cost to 86.11 + VAT - £101.17
This gives rise to varying costs. The basic main variance seems to be in oil price and labour rate. Subaru dealers vary from £35 per hour to £65 depending on location. (Guessing min and max, but I am not far out)
The other variations come in the sundries. Some dealers charge a flat rate per service for grease, sundry lubs etc. Others levy an environmental charge per service for disposal of used oil, filters, service parts, antifreeze, brake fluid etc - I'm not moaning here, but this is a real and rising cost that I choose to build in to the labour rate - others make a flat charge per service. As we do, others use engine oil flush, and some will charge all three or more of the above.
Thus varying prices - but £275 - I'd love to hear where you got that quote
Hope this helps, call me if you need any advice, I’m happy just to chat as long as I’m not to busy
, or mail me.
Regards, David
