MY00 60k service -- competitive tender
#1
I'm due a 60k service on my MY00 in the next 2-3 weeks. Unlike earlier cars, this is an all fluids and filter change plus a cambelt change. The local dealer wants £700 for this.
There are a lot of Scoob garages/specialists on here, so I'd like to put the job up for 'competitive tender' . Basically, either post here or e-mail me (address in profile) with a better price, details of the fluids, filters, etc. that you would use and your location. I'm based near Stansted Airport and am prepared to travel up to 2 hours each way. Whilst everything's apart I'd like some Goodridge hoses supplied and fitted too, and it would be nice if you diagnose what it is that's squeaking when I go over bumps (and it's not the wife ) while it's in for service.
Serious offers only, please, not "my mate will do it for 50 quid"
[Mods -- feel free to move this. I couldn't work out if it was more appropriate to 'Dealer and Third Party...' or 'Wanted']

I'd query that if I were you. The 60k service is exactly the same as the 30k, just an all fluids replace. The cambelt is done at 45k and 90k (the 90k being the multiple when the fluids are due too), so theres no way it should be 700 odd quid, more like 400.

Nope, what you're saying is true up to and including MY99. I have the MY00 service book here (and it's been confirmed by several dealers). Of course you and I both know there's no mechanical difference between MY99 and MY00 but they obviously just decided to extend the service interval. Makes little difference, as I owned it at 45k and didn't have the cambelt done then, so it needs doing one way or another.
