Default Hawkeye STI misfire(?) when turning left - confused!

Ok this will sound a little odd and I'm booking her into SlipEnd to get looked at but here's the thing...

On occasions when I'm turning left pretty hard (quarter/half lock) such as off a round about, 2nd or 3rd gear, when the revs get to 4k the engine seems to misfire or cut out. It feels like I've hit a wall and it'll refuse to rev more. If I lift off and reapply the power everything is fine. No engine management lights come on and it only happens when it wants to - I've had it flying with various diff settings to recreate it but no luck.

Has anyone else had this happen with theirs as a search on here and SIDC comes up with nothing.

Hopefully they'll give me a new STI while they check mine out

Whats the fuel level like when this happens.... if it's low each time, then the fuel is being thrown away from the fuel pick-up in the tank and the pump is sucking air for a nano second hence the symptoms.....

I thought this too but the level has been fine and certainly not on fumes Mostly around half way i'd say. Perhaps the fuel pump needs looking at if it's doing it at various levels.

I'm hoping something will be logged on the ECU although I did call Subaru Assistance and their hand held device didn't show anything - although he wasn't exactly straight from the WRC in his knoweledge of Imprezas

Could even be something as simple, (or hard to find) as a loose conection somewhere thats getting even looser by the cornering force......

I'm hoping so but that's why they offer a warranty and a nice replacement car while they play with it

If I get a new STI then I'll have to book some customer meetings in Yorkshire or North Wales hehe

It's VERY unlikely to be fuel surge during left turns as fuel pump/pickup is on the right side of the tank. Therefore fuel will be higher around pickup..!

If it definitely only does it turning left the it is probably a loose electrical connection. Check battery terminals/earthing as suggested..
