Question

I have just been offered a new job which comes with a car or £380 per month car allowance.

Question: Can you get a new Impreza on these repayments if i put £3K down?

Look forward to hearing from you.

End of last year I got a flyer offering a new WRX for around £250 a month on lease (IIRC).

Lightbulb

If that is just to cover the repayments then yes, but if it is to cover running costs, then unless you do minimal mileage, nope.

Thumbs down

Is the £380 net or gross ? Revenue deem it to be additional salary therefore it'll be taxable.

Wink

Ask your bank for a loan with repayments of £380 a month over say 3years or 2... (no point taking to big a loan unless you intend staying in the job for ever) and buy a Scooby with how ever much the bank will give you.. sorted...

£380 * 36months = £13680... take off 3680 for interest gives you £10k plus your £3000 gets you a lovely MY99 I guess...

Or talk to the finance at Subaru and you might be able to get a balloon payment of say £8k at the end of a 3year term and get a new shape one...

I am waffling now.. basically you can get a Scooby with that much!
