Damn i missed top gear this week.my work friend whos a scoob nut told me the new golf gti whooped the new scoob on track by 2 secs ?
Find it hard to believe.

 

Yes its true. Lets hope the STi is better, well it should be.

 

as said, it did beat the scoob. The sti is getting a road test on 5th gear tomorrow

 

it was 5th gears vicky henderson-bintler who drove firstly the golf, then the WRX, one out lap, then THE lap, and managed to get the golf around 2s quicker, some people think that golf-loving vickys driving prowess (she really does have a soft spot for the golf), is an adequate demonstration of the 2 cars, my opinion is that although the cars are very equal, she is a **** 'racing' driver at the best of times. Apart from the anti-scoob trolls, some members here are upset that their hero has gone from rally legend into kia cee'd in one fell swoop and want to see it perform badly so FHI have no choice but to realise how bad their ill conceived idea is.......although rumour has it that sales have increased by almost 40% over the outgoing model.

maybe they should have seperated the WRX brand from the impreza completely , the new WRX should not be called the WRX, a 'sport' would maybe more apt.
The STi, should be the benchmark WRX, with special editions following from that a la the FQ series of EVOs.

wrx maybe, but 30 bhp more than the golf ? whats going on .

 

The Golf did whooop it's **** .... it's true .... but Golf GTi drivers are second only to BMW Drivers in the W4nkers Olympics
