Just been looking on pistonheads and there's one of these for sale. I've never heard of one before but mine is the same age (MY97) and colour, and has a gold WRX sticker on the bootlid, could mine be one? Apparently They have Larger injectors, MAF and an STI gearbox? Or is it just an old wives tale

the ones with the gold stickers have a higher spec and more powerfull engine etc etc.

normally have sti rear lights and spoilers as well.

never heard of them getting called "gold edition" before, until recently when somebody else mentioned it to me as well!

actually, just checked the piston heads advert and the owner of that car, is the bloke who called it a gold edition on our forum lol

 

Mines got a gold sticker but no sti lights or spoiler. How else would determine if its 'gold edition' apart from the bootlid sticker then, someone may have just swapped the stickers over? There must be way to know for sure. It would be nice to tell my mate ive got even more power than I first told him Lol!

 

97 onwards cars tend to have the gold stickers

 

Im not going to comment on the provenance of the vehicle: but the FAQ's very out of date and it was compiled by enthusuasts when far less was known about JDM vehicles.
