Can a VF35 make 350BHP????
I recently had my car remapped by Bob Rawle. Its a bug sti with full decat exhaust, filter and fuel pump, other than that all other bits are standard sti items. To say im happy with the outcome is an understatement 
- the car drives fantastic and feels responsive on all levels. Bob did a road dyno and i recieved the graph. To my surprise it stated the car is runnnig 350, and it certainly feels very quick 
Now a couple of "friends" have stated that no way would a vf35 make 350 bhp, and that maybe figures have been fudged.
I certainly dont believe that:
a) Bob would do that, and he certainly has an enviable rep.
b) That he would fudge anything ever!!!
They have even hinted that the car is runnnig at its absolute limit and reliability was questioned.
I know they maybe pulling my leg and again ill state that im over the moon with this figure and how the car pulls and pulls and pulls but what do peeps think????

A vf 35 will just about make 350 on a good set up average is more like 340 but 350 is not un-heard off.
Bobs road dyno is pretty accurate in my experience and as you say he has know need to fudge figuires

Know a guy running 370 on a VF35 and has it on good authority that it is theoretically possible to get to around 400.

a friend of mine got 310 bhp on a vf35, sti3, with just decat downpipe, panel filter and 1.2 bar remap. So if you start fiddling with injectors and airflow etc, mid 300's should be no problem.

hoping for 330ish on my set up. have heard different top ends bout the vf35 but end of the day they are pub figures and you have said you are very happy with it which is the main thing.(its only a matter of time before you will want more)

Mine made 348/333, since then it's had the fuelling tweaked (after some intake mods 
) which has made a real noticeable difference on the bum dyno. So it could be up on these figures..
At the end of the day the figures don't mean a lot, it's how it performs that matters. Against the clock is the only way to be certain if a cars quicker..! Or when you come up against something a bit special and end up with a big grin on yer face..

Its not a problem to get a VF35 to run 350BHP in my experience
My Mods there were
Ported VF35 to stop boost creep (wastegate)
APS Inner wing induction kit
Perrin Intake elbow
Meercat Custom 3 inch decat system
GT spec 2 headers and up pipe
Andy Forrest Remap with 10% Methanol
I have since had the car mapped back onto standard fuel which on the road dyno showed 360bhp / 350lbs-ft of torque. The road dyno is usually always within a couple of BHP of the Rolling Road result, but Andy was saying when a car with a top mount goes on the rollers it usually shows a little less (with me about 10bhp each time)
I have been reliably informed that I should be able to make 400, or slightly more if I get larger injectors, Fuel pressure regulator, front mount and run poss 15% methanol and 3ml per L of NF octain booster
It will be about a year till I go and do this work so we will see what happens
And as jasonius says figures mean nothing, its all about spool up and how it performs on the road.

It performs great its just a couple of people who i feel are a bit envious that the car came up with this result.

bob mapped my 2005 sti that was 350 bhp

Got 355bhp on mine torque was down though at about 310 and its been like that for the last 16 months. Due to get 18g put in on Tuesday. Hoping for c370 - 380 with a big increase in torque. Next time I mod after that will probably try for 450/450 with a 2.5 ltr eng and 321 turbo (many years hence)

You will prob be mapped to circa 1.5 Bar of boost, with the Methanol map I was approx 1.6 but now im back to a plain V-Power map im down to 1.5

I wouldn't advise drinking methanol though
Whilst petrol will kill you dead, methanol only makes you blind and turns you insane

Methanol was formerly produced by the destructive distillation of wood.
