Guys - does your girl hate your Scooby???

My wife hates riding in the Scoob, and never drives it.
Went away at the weekend, and admittedly my wagon, with seats down is quite noisy on the motorway, but she complains no end about the noise, the ride, and the shove in the back when the turbo spins up.
All this despite us taking 3 test drives before ordering it....and driving very considerately when she's on board....
So, come, a leetle straw poll if you please.....

Only woman I know who loves the scoob is me Mum. She's totally nuts. I refuse to be a passenger in it when we swap.
(I pinch her Forester for launching the boat coz I don't have a towbar)
My (now ex) GF was gutted when I got the Scoob; she wanted me to get a Volvo S60 coz she loved the stereo...

ex-wife did not like them and told me i would be an idiot to spend 20k+ on a car.
g/f dont mind it but wont drive it at all. (mainly cos she knows i would be unhappy if she hit it and does not want to trust herself !!! i dont mind and have told her she ought to try but she dont want to.
its only metal afterall............shshhhh dont tell her i said that
does not complain to much when i drive but i see her holding the seats quite often

Wife deffo doesn't like the scoob. Ride is too hard and driving position too low for her.
Also think she isn't too keen on the shove in the back from the turbo. It's better than my previous MY95 though, as it's somewhat less violent. She prefers the looks of the MY99 to the earlier car, but still finds it a little ugly overall. Not as stylish as a mate's Audi A4, for example.
None of this stopped her taking it to 120mph and beyond when we drove down to Switzerland before Christmas. This **really** did take place in Germany. Honest.
Her fault that I bought it in a way, as she said I could get a wheel and pedals for playing PC games *or* the Scoob, but not both. OK, so I have to play CMR 2 with a keyboard only. This is not such a massive sacrifice, considering the grins per km . .!!

Got to say, my bird absulutely loves the scooby! Shes not insured so cant drive it but she would do anything to have a go. One time i nipped the offy and left her in the car with the engine running, when i came out she had moved the car 10 ft forward beacuse "i just wanted to feel the clutch, sorry" She has drove it once and now she wants her own, plus she doesnt mind me driving like a tit, she quite enjoys the noise she says, top bird!

Used to have Rover 220 Coupe, wife didn't like that - too low, only 2 doors - silly boot, etc, etc, etc.
I showed her the MY01 scoob in a Dealership, but never took a test drive - she liked the idea - 4 doors, airbags, 4wd drive for safety, more space in the boot - £10K less than any Audi or BMW I'd settle for....
Now she understands the effect a Turbo has, she hates it!

My wife loves the scooby. Just after I had run it in (2 yrs ago) she was driving it as we we took a turnoff for a motaway. A 911 GT3 was in front and she had some fun with it.
2 yrs later, and she still likes driving it (when I let her!!)

Zoë loves the Scoob, she even got it clear indicator and side repeater lenses for Christmas. She doesn't like driving it, too scared that she will scratch/dent it etc. Loves it the most when we blow other cars away.

Not only does my wife love the car but so do both of my little girls - aged 7 and 3! When given the coice, the girls always chose to go in "Daddy's car".
My Mum told me that when she was speaking to my eldest about buying me a silly thing to hang in the car, my little darling replied with a very dismissive "Don't you know grandma - you don't hang things in a Scooby!" - you gotta love her for that!!
On the driving front, my wife loves to find an excuse to nip out on an evening just to have a little blast!!

Blimey it's looking quite well balanced, unlike me.
By the way scoobynutta555, that negative reference to the wagon was uncalled for - there's a lot you can do in the back of the wagon that is impossible in the saloon.
Keep 'em coming, I need to think more on my strategy...
Cheers

My girlfriend
Loves it...
The Scooby that is...
Total speed freak... keeps telling me to go faster.
Luckly for her i'm a sensible chap... and don't listen to a word she is saying.
The monsterous noise coming from the exhaust and the extra hard ride are her favourite features.
Don't change your Scooby change your girlfriend.
Best wishes
Steve & Hannah

My Mrs hates my P1 with a passion. She does drive it, but only when I've had a drink and she's left with no choice.
She says this years gonna be a good one as there's a chance I'll sell it and get something else.
I don't care what she says though, cos all the other girlies love the car. It's also got a bit of a legendary status at work as being a monster. One guy who's got a Kawasaki ZXR750 was SO suprised when I took him for a blat. He reconed it was as quick as his bike. He also said "No car should be that quick!"
Me, I luv it!
Regards
Kurt

My Grandma was only women who's ever enjoyed the WRX! She said it reminds her of the Lotus's and Porsches (previously owned by family members), but with more space!

My wife hates the 'sports' (what a misnomer) seats on my 01 WRX and feels it needs more torque. Also hates the boot lid (nearly cut herself on it).
Complains of the frequent fuel stops and ugly bugeyes.
I can't argue with any of that.
Getting a '02 with PPP and buckets in March. She wanted the WRC type lights but not when she saw the £650 price tag.
When we tesy drove it the salesman said he'd rarely known a female drive the car so hard.
Still, not as good as the look on the salesmans face when she told him the honda accord type-r wasn't fast enough!
I do worry though that some psychopath might go into a rage if blown off by a female scooby driver, she gets a lot of hassle in it.

Well my other half hates it, she said when we went to look at my new scoob "it looks like a dirt track car!" she didnt know i had ordered it just thought we were looking
anyway she was well pished off coz id promised her my A3 Tsport when id finished with it, but i traded it in oops
dont think she likes it because it attracts attention from young girlies!
My little girl of 20 months already recognises a scoob! we were shopping in our other car Rover 220 diesel, yack! and my daughter spotted another DBM turbo in the car park at asda and aaid "Da Da's car Da Da's car mummy!" she can also say "Scoob"
P.s she also likes convertables!:P
Lee
