Exclamation HELP WITH EXHAUST SYSTEM PLZ

HELP WITH EXHAUST SYSTEM PLZ

Hi there guys and galls- this is prob an easy one but im new to scoobies.

I have recently bought a performance middle section and back box for my 02 wrx bug eye

here is the exhaust system that i have bought

01-06 Subaru Impreza 3" Catback Exhaust WRX STi 02 03 on eBay, also Exhaust Components, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 15-Feb-08 21:55:43 GMT)

I have taken this to a garage to be fitted.
But i have been informed that the middle section does not fit my standard downpipe?
Just wondering if you guys can help me.
Just od not want to buy the wrong item.

Thanks

i reckon that is because the person you bought that of is selling the downpip that comes with that system separtly. so in order for that to fit on you would need the downpipe that he is selling separtly, which is normally longer than the standard downpipe. i think you should contact the seller and inform him askin for a refund. its kind of misleading in my opinion. alternativly you could get an extension pipe welded on if its not a hassle.

As you say you are new to Subarus it appears that it is your lack of knowledge that has led you to buy this exhaust. There is nothing wrong with the advert.
Almost all Imprezas have a 2.5" system as standard and if you want the 3" system you will need to buy additional parts to make your new one fit.
Does your new system centre pipe replace your centre cat also. If it does then you will need a 3" downpipe. If it doesn't then you may be able to get hold of a centre cat/decat that acts as a 2.5" to 3" adapter.

its ok man....this is sign from god saying go out and buy a downpip as well. i personally think a cat back does not increase the performace of the car. i had a cat back put on at first, did not feel any difference. but when the open mouth DP went on, there was a noticable difference. go for 1 you wont be disappointed with decats.

the advert does not mention nothing abt it fitting to the standard DP. im sure the seller knws that when peope buy a cat back they buy it just to replace the bak an the centre most of the time. the ad is not clear and he has not stated the fitment. the best thing would be ask him if it would fit the standard DP an see wat he says, then take it from der. intentions are not ryt

Cheers folks for all the help
I have went out today and bought a magnex downpipe and this should solve the issue. Being fitted tomorrow so I shall find out if it fits soon enough.
I think all you folks were right in your answers, it was a mixture of my inexperience and the advert being a little misleading. Ill keep you posted as to how the magnex performs though
