Finding a cars paint code - URGENT!!
I am due to purchase a bonnet for a car, but the owner of the bonnet no longer has the car, so cant check the VIN plate to check the paint code.
Apart from phoning some subaru garages (which i have already started trying to do) is there anyone who could find or knows of a way to find the paint code out pretty quickly.
I have the cars reg no. and know it will be either of the dark blue mica's -52D or 95H - according to the year of the car.

Not sure if this is any help.
According to that chart, it'll be 52D is the car was a 1996 - 199 model, or 95H if it was a 2000 model. As you can see, there isn't any overlap for those two paint colors, so if you know the exact year of the car, then it's easy to figure out the paint code

Thanks for that mate.
I actually contacted Subaru Uk who looked up the reg numbers and told me.
Strange thing is the donor car (where the bonnet is from) is a 95H dark blue mica and the car we need the bonnet for is 52D dark blue mica, but both cars are 'V' registered.
We just need a facelift sport bonnet in Dark Blue Mica 52D.

When I owned my classics by in the late 90's, Subaru had a habit of launching the following years models from Oct / Nov.
So given that the "V" reg came out in Sept 99 until March 2000, you could have a Sept 99 car on a "V" plate being a MY99 model, but a car registered in November 99, still on a "V" plate would be a MY00 model.
Simple really.
