I'm not going to retype the whole thing, but I got a letter from Cheam yesterday to confirm that the following service intervals apply to all 2002 models AND RETROSPECTIVELY to 2001 Impreza & Outback H6 models :

Normally Aspirated Models (except Outback H6 3.0) : 12000 miles or annually
Turbo Models & Outback H6 3.0 : 10000 miles or annually.

A new stamped up Service Book will be supplied by your dealer if you return your current one to Subaru (UK) via your dealer.

Better contact your Euro dealer and find out. The letter only mentions Subaru (UK).

SPoke to Cheam concerning imports (MY02) and new service intervals will apply, however, we will not be getting a new service booklet.

Yeah went in on Saturday to have my 6 month service. They came out after 10 mins to tell me that they hadn't done the service because they'd just got a letter from Subaru to say that the 1 year policy applies to 01 models as well. Took my service book to send of so that I get a new one.

Question

I had my UK300 done on friday and apparently its now due for a
service in 2 years time or when its done 20,000 miles (currently @ 6,000).
My wife's Forrester my01(normal 2 litre) was done today and that's due in six months.
Have Subaru gone mad? you can't leave a turbo charged car for two years/15,000 miles without an oil change.

Personally, I will still get my oil and filter changed every 6,000 miles and perhaps leave the Forrester a bit longer.

Had the 1000 mile service on my Euro import WRX done at Quenbys on 2nd Jan this year. The guy on the front desk told me then about the changes to service schedule. I think his name was John.

Cool

Carpet,
Yep it was Baldock and to their defence, they had only just received the official letter from Subaru and they will be writing to everyone to let them know.

I was in my local garage today and they mentioned the new schedule - so i handed my book in for replacement.

The scary thing is that someone who has just had their 7,500 service will now have to wait until 20,000 miles for the next one, which is 5K more than previously. They will need to watch their brake pads, oil etc., or things could get expensive (or even dangerous )
