Or if you can't be bothered use a hand wash nearby, plenty about these days but for how long? the Dept. of Environment don't want them but I have a great set of guys locally who do a good job hand wash and leather for £6 and she looks great afterwards.

Dont carwashes work on metal, i.e there are sensors that tell the system where the car begins and ends. So a fibreglass or grp spoiler would not register and the washing arm would try to go through it rather than round it!

stay away from a car wash booth mate. I put my RX7 through one unwittingly (BP for that matter) and the results were shocking.
I had long streaks on the roof where the rotating brush had taken a layer of the paint off and the rear spoiler had been damaged (almost ripped off).
danfranklin1, I agree, no stereotyping, a bunch of polish guys near where I live do a grand job of cleaning car's by hand and they are now doing very well as a business - I have no hesitation in taking any of my car's to them.

jet wash isnt that much different to a car wash in that the bristles on the brush are the same material as the carwash rollers.Best bet is to get the Eastern Europeans at Tescos to wash your car for you if you really cant be bothered

lots of misinformation in here
so i will let you all get on with it
but agree that doing things by yourself is THE best way of doing it (just like cooking your own tea with fresh veggies), but not many people can be arsed to do that.

Whats the mis information Sticky
I wouldn't put my scoob through a car wash, always preferred to do it myself by hand
Other cars I have put through, now I wont put the shogun through as there have been a few reports of them either breaking, or breaking the car wash
I will use a jetwash on the Shogun though
