PIAA Driving Lamps
#1
Hiya,
I have just bought a set of PIAA driving lamps (as part of my 'make the WRX better' program ) and was just wondering if anyone has any advice re: fitting them, are they difficult/tricky to fit?
Will my existing Subaru spotlight covers (clear plastic) fit the PIAAs?
Do they need to be wired upto the main beam or can they go to the spot switch?
ta,
Matt

My dealer fitted mine a couple of months back as I was told it's a tricky job. Took them two hours. They are wired up to the main beam with the PIAA switch acting as the master switch. They seem to have done a good job and well worth the dosh getting them to fitted properly-My competence with electrics plays a big part
My old clear fog protectors don't fit but I'm sure I've read somewhere about clear protectors for the PIAA lamps - check the archives.
Cheers

hiya,
I have just looked at the instructions and the wiring doesn't look that bad, although I was a little unsure of what the PIAA switch did, you've cleared it up now
I think I will get the properly fitted, although I am impatient and want them on now! grrr!

I've fitted two sets. They are fiddly. If you are not happy with doing it yourself best get your dealer/auto electrician to do so.
To wire them to the fog switch is illegal (they have to be wired in to main beam so they go off on dip) apart from the fact there is a good chance it would dazzle someone and cause an accident - cos they're bl00dy bright!!
