Hi, i recently bought a 1.6 subaru Gl and within 24hours the timing belt had slipped and knackered my engine, that was before christmas and i have been without my car for over a month now and i'am desperate to get it back on the road. i have been trying to find another 1.6 gl engine since it happend but cannot get one anywhere, another option i was looking at was upgrading to 1.8 gl engine but i wasnt sure if i am able to put a 1.8 engine in my car and use the 1.6 flywheel and gear box and inlet manifold etc. could you please help?

sorry to hear bout that fella. Did you buy privately or trade? If it was a trader I would be seeking some cash of em, especially as it was within 24hrs of the purchase. Good luck any how.

 

na it was a privet seller but he offered to help me out with puting money towards an engine when i find one.
