Drive split?
(Before starting, puts on flame suit, anti SIAL medallion and earplugs*)
OK, Question,
How is the drive split on a 2.0 sport as opposed to a WRX or STI?
I wonder why I've got an 'AWD' sticker and the others have 'Symmetrical AWD'
Sits back and waits for a pasting
* for the duh's

I'd be interested in a technical answer to the first question. I believe that "symmetrical 4WD" refers to the fact that each drive shaft is the same length, possibly for better grip/handling (most off-roaders have one side longer than the other). Don't know if the sport is the same, but I would have thought so.
Also the diffs can send more power/torque to the rear if required. Again, not sure if the sport is the same.
Oh, and SIAL refers to "Scooby in a lake", a picture posted up a zillion times and signifies something that has been seen many times before.

Its symmetrical because all the major components lie along the 'long' axis of the car which means the car is 'symmetrical' left to right. The advantage of this is that the car is more balanced side-to-side which gives better traction and handling.
Your Sport is therefore 'Symmetrical AWD' and I think all recent subarus say this on the rear window.
