Help!!
Good morning all,
I've hit a problem while driving to work this morning. I went to get some petrol no problem but shortly after leaving the petrol station I noticed the battery light was on on the dash and the power steering started to stiffen up. I've made it to work but the steering was very difficult to turn by the time I reached the car park
Also the windscreen wipers are very slow
A couple of days ago there was a rattling noise coming from the engine when cold which smoothed out when the engine was warm.
Has anyone experienced this before? The car is a 1995 JDM WRX.
I'm assuming that the alternator has gone the journey.
I'd appreciate any advice you guys may have.

Broken auxiliary drive belt, less likely to be alternator as you say power steering off which is another pulley. If wipers were slow chances battery is low and car won't start. Sounds like a job for the AA/RAC, hopefully only cost you the price of the belt and a jump start. Good luck..

OK, the AA have been and looked at it and the crank pulley was f*cked and wobbling. That's what coughed the belt off
I've phoned the dealer but they said they couldn't help me as it was a JDM and therefore won't be recognised by their chassis reference number system
Does anyone have any parts suppliers who are a bit more knowledgeable and can supply me what I need??

Hi,
Don't want to frighten you but has the pulley come loose on the end of the crank? I had the same problem a few years ago on my '95WRX. The pulley had chewed up the end of the crank and the whole crankshaft would have had to have been replaced.
