Apparently there are a few spare slots at North Weald airfield in Essex in late January, and also in February. £90 for a whole days tuition (on a private airfield) seems very reasonable to me

A few of us are booking up some dates at Crail airfield in Scotland for mid March time.

Forgot to mention, that depending on demand, we may have some scope for group booking discounts

And that half day sessions might also be possible for those who can't make a whole day. These would need to be sorted out as a group booking though, with others interested in half day sessions.

Good work John will e-mail him after the RR on Sunday (find out what others are planning). Hopefully weekends at Crail will be possible as I've only got 1/2 a days holiday left this year (roll on 2003)

Is this with Andrew Walsh? I went on his Elise driving course last summer, excellent fun and unparalleled value for money.

I read all the stuff. You have to use your OWN car, I think?

Like the idea, but don't fancy using my motor (I'm from Yorkshire).

Anybody if know if this its possible to do a course using a Scoob. Clearly this will cost a LOT more!

Yes,

you do have to use your own car for the courses. This is the reason why the courses are £80/£90 for a full days training, instead of £200+. The big advantage of this for many people, is that they learn precisely how their own cars will handle.

Andrew does run some of the on-road courses using his own car (Lotus Elise) at extra cost, however I believe it is off the road for repairs at the moment . I believe he was thinking about getting an Impreza to do some of the on-road training as well at some point in the future.

Updates on Crail:

We have exclusively reserved 14th and 15th March for our use, other dates will be shared with other marques. The week beginning 18th March will also be available depending on demand. I understand a few members are doing the off-road course during the first week, and the on-road (full day one on one training) the following week.

Dates in Jan/Feb at North Weald. If you are interested, then I'd e-mail Andrew on Andrew@1stlotus.com asap, as availability is very limited.

Group discounts - haven't explored this in too much detail yet, but Andrew said that discounts for group bookings would be possible, but would depend on demand. We would probably be looking at block booking a week's worth of training (20 - 30 people) at the same venue. Similarly for the on-road training if a group of people (5 or 6) in the same area book courses for the same week, then discounts would be possible

OK guys, I've booked myself on the course on Feb 26th. There are places available for this date, now three left. Anybody else want to come along on this date?

If so, mail Andrew on Andrew@1stlotus.com and book it, and let me know here also?

Ta,

Matt
