I have a MY01 JDM WRX tiptronic wagon (model 20K). Only mods are a panel filter, Magnex backbox and a Greddy Profec B boost controller and a Mocom suspension geometry setup. Should be 245bhp as standard, so estimate the mods should bring this up to about 260bhp.

Just we two, then. As I won't be modding mine further for a while, you could easily have the UK's fastest with little effort
Don't forget to upgrade the 2-pot brakes before you let loose the 350bhp

just bought some brembos of some one on here, will be fitting them next week, have you had yours on the rollers to confirm bhp,as when i bought mine was told it was 245bhp and then i fitted i full decat (turbo back) system and panel filter + baileys dump valve which i thought should now be around 275bhp but i recently drove my mates newage sti standard 265 - 280bhp and it was i lot
quicker than mine i now think that the jdm ones are the same bhp as a uk 1s and
the reason they sell them as 245bhp i cos thats what they are in japan running
on japans stronger octane petrol

No, not had it on the rollers, but all the tech specs I've read indicate it should be around 245 bhp at the flywheel. I reckon that the longer ratios on the 4 speed auto coupled with the power absorbing characteristics of a torque convertor are the main reasons it feels so much less responsive than the sti. Takeoff was noticeably quicker in my previous classic auto (220bhp), due to it being lighter than the bugeye, boost coming in about 500 rpm lower and a shorter first gear, but the bugeye is quicker and more flexible once moving.

looks like theres only the 2 of us,some changes been made to my mods, after reading a magazine testing intercoolers and what air intake temps wer,so i now have just secured a deal on a front mount intercooler (2nd hand),will be fitted soon as poss,so the 300bhp i was hoping for maybe more than that, will see what
happens may get carried away and try for 350bhp,thinking about doing a few drag days next year, went to some last year and the only autos there wer all supras, they should do a fastest auto class

I hope this works for you. You may need to make sure that the mods give a broad spread of power and torque though, rather than just peak power, with only the 4 gear ratios. Let me know how it goes.
I think the gearbox is similar to the Legacy GTB autobox, so should take the upgrade power.
